Temporary Supervisor for the Textile Atelier at the Work Center

The mission of the Social Psychiatry Employment Unit is to provide meaningful employment with a focus on recovery.

The unit consists of three operations. At the Work Center, individualized meaningful employment is offered in a learning environment. At Framsteget, opportunities for internships and volunteer work are provided, and in IPS, support for work and studies is given. As our colleague in the textile atelier will be on study leave, we are looking for a temporary supervisor to take over the work in the textile atelier at the Work Center.

You will be part of the team at the Work Center, but will lead your own group in the textile atelier. Other groups include café, kitchen, media, carpentry/gardening, and Framsteget. Additionally, we offer wellness programs and user-led groups.

You will be part of a wonderful team of great colleagues working together in a creative work environment with ample opportunity to develop and influence the operations.

We offer supervision in a recovery-oriented working method.

Job Responsibilities

You will supervise users with mental disabilities in their daily activities in the textile atelier at the Work Center. We receive orders from both external and internal customers. Examples of orders can range from altering and repairing pants, sewing curtains to reupholstering furniture. Products are also made for the Work Center's shop. You will collaborate with other groups in the operations on certain projects, such as the carpentry group. Your main task is to guide and support users in their work and provide them with opportunities for learning and recovery through meaningful employment.

We are looking for someone who

We believe that you as a person are empathetic and see each individual while also being able to lead the work in a textile atelier. You have the ability to help others grow, possess excellent collaboration skills, and find it easy to build relationships. You enjoy working independently while also being able to see your part in a larger context. Flexibility and a strong sense of service are also important factors in the work.

You have a YH education focusing on social psychiatry, social pedagogy, or another qualification deemed equivalent by the employer, along with a strong interest in sewing and experience working with sewing. You may also be a textile and woodworking teacher or similar with a passion for people and experience working in a supervisory role with individuals. Having training in recovery-oriented approaches is an advantage.

The role includes documentation and other administrative tasks, so you need to have good computer skills and proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. Experience documenting in Lifecare is an advantage.
